Water entered snorkel submarine

Intrusive water caused a short circuit in a battery of the disappeared Argentinian submarine.

Submarine ARA San Juan reported the problems before he disappeared. The vessel was then instructed to return. 'They had to isolate the battery and sail to Mar del Plata on another battery under water,' said a navy spokesman.

The ship disappeared on November 15. Because the submarine only had seven days of oxygen on board, many have given up hope that the 44-strong crew will still be found alive. Airplanes and ships from thirteen countries are now searching for the disappeared submarine.
