Votes are counted in Iran

In Iran the polling stations closed and started counting the votes Friday in the parliamentary elections and the elections for the Assembly of Experts are released.

The elections were, according to the Interior Ministry in the country without irregularities. Apart from a new parliament voted Iran's voters are about 88 seats in the Assembly of Experts, which decides who is the supreme leader of Iran.

President Hassan Rouhani expressed satisfaction with the high turnout. The vote was the first since Iran and the major world powers reached an agreement on its nuclear program and economic sanctions against the country were lifted in January.
