US working with transport Guantánamo prisoners

The US military is busy with preparations to bring about ten prisoners at the Guantanamo Bay naval base to countries in the Middle East.

US Secretary of Defense Ashton Carter announced in December that his department would begin this year with the transfer of groups of prisoners to other countries. The closure of the controversial prison in Cuba is one of the main goals that President Barack Obama has set itself. The White House approved last month still have a closure plan to the Pentagon because it is too expensive.
At the naval base are still more than a hundred prisoners. Most of them are suspected of involvement in terrorist organization al-Qaeda and the Taliban. But the prison is controversial because there are many prisoners without trial or never indicted.
