US wants emergency meeting Security Council to North Korea

The United States along with Japan and South Korea requested an emergency meeting of the UN Security Council.

North Korea called the launch on Sunday of a new type of ballistic missile medium-range, a success. The Korean Central News Agency reported that the Pukguksong-2 can be fitted with a nuclear warhead.

The North Korean missile test was the first since the election of Donald Trump for president of the United States in November. The launch coincided with a visit by Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe to Trump in Florida. Abe called the action from Pyongyang 'totally unacceptable. 'Trump told to' stand 100 percent behind Japan. '
