US military advisers to offer Nigeria

The United States has offered Nigeria a mission of special units to help the West African country in the fight against the extremist Islamist group Boko Haram.

The armies of Nigeria and some neighboring countries Boko Haram last year, largely driven out of the caliphate declared by extremists in northeastern Nigeria. But the extremists have regrouped and their attacks around Lake Chad increased. They therefore pose a threat to regional security, despite the formation of a multinational African army of nine soldiers who must compete against them.
