US fear unrest after executions Saudi Arabia

The US government fears that the execution of prominent Shiite cleric Nimr al-Nimr will lead to more unrest in the Middle East.

The execution of the cleric and 46 others from Saudi Arabia led among among other angry reactions in predominantly Shiite Iran. An angry mob stormed the embassy of Saudi Arabia in the Iranian capital Tehran. In Washington, meanwhile, sounded warning sounds to address the Saudi government.

We reiterate our call on the Government of Saudi Arabia to protect human rights and respect , according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. We are concerned that the execution of al-Nimr could lead to more sectarian tensions at a time when to be accurate urgently reduced , said a spokesman for the department.
