US embassy has become a national monument

On the day of the Donald Trump inauguration as the 45th president of the United States, the US Embassy designated as a national monument in The Hague.

The characteristic building at Lange Voorhout dates from 1956 and was designed by the famous Hungarian-American architect Marcel Breuer. It was a municipal monument and is seen as an example of architecture from the years of reconstruction.

Incidentally, the US embassy is moving this year to a new building in Wassenaar. The vacant building in The Hague will be the Escher Museum and the hotel is located.
