UNICEF calls for more money for emergency relief

UNICEF calls this year, more than 3 billion euros to provide emergency assistance to children, about 500 million more than last year.

By wars, natural disasters and climate change children to leave their homes. Therefore they be exposed to violence, disease and exploitation. Nearly one in four children in the world resides in countries affected by war or natural disasters, says UNICEF.

The money is used to cover the costs of access to safe drinking water, food, medical care and education in 48 countries. 7.5 million children are likely to become this year severely malnourished, of whom nearly half a million in Nigeria and a half million in Yemen. Just for the assistance is required 1.3 billion children in or out of Syria.
