UN shortened by Trumps budget plan

The United Nations can no longer perform essential tasks when US President Donald Trump continues his cuts on support for the people's organization.

The figures proposed by the Trump government make it 'simply impossible for the UN to continue all its elementary work in promoting peace, development, humanitarian aid and human rights,' said a UN spokesperson. He hopes that Washington can still talk about UN funding.

The United States is the largest donor of the UN. Thus, they pay 22 percent of the regular budget of 4.8 billion euros and 28.5 percent of the money allocated for peace operations. The UN now has a budget of over 7 billion euros.
