UN boss: communicate with North Korea

The supreme boss of the United Nations has called for more ways to communicate with North Korea.

The North Koreans have increased the tension in the region with repeated nuclear and missile tests. Some countries openly question the feasibility of a dialogue. The Japanese minister Taro Kono (Foreign Affairs) told the board that Pyongyang is not interested in a meaningful discussion. The minister stated that the North Koreans 'are far from willing' to put a stop behind their weapons programs.

The US minister Rex Tillerson reiterated that his country is prepared to talk. He provided the only condition that the North Koreans 'stop their threatening behavior' for the time being. The American did not say how much time without incident must pass before Washington wants to talk.
