Ukrainian police clear tent camp

The police evicted a tent camp of opponents of the government on Saturday in front of the parliament building in the Ukrainian capital Kiev.

During the eviction, grenades were seized, among other things. The eviction would be related to investigations into clashes between the demonstrators and the police last Tuesday. Then fifteen officers were injured.

The tent camp has been in existence since October last year. The demonstrators in the camp demand the release of arrested fellow fighters, more anti-corruption measures and the resignation of President Poroshenko. Over the past few weeks, thousands of people have taken to the streets in protest against the government.
