Ukrainian pilot estimated parliamentary attack

A Ukrainian air force pilot and MP was indicted on Thursday.

Savchenko was in prison in Russia from 2014 to 2016. She was accused of killing two Russian journalists in eastern Ukraine, which she herself denies. She was pardoned by Russian President Vladimir Putin and immediately swapped against two Russians who were held in Ukraine.

Because of a hunger strike in the Russian cell she became a national hero in Ukraine. While she was stuck, she was elected in the Ukrainian parliament. She was first a member of the Patriotic Party, but is now partyless.

The parliament will probably decide next week whether the inviolability of Savchenko will be lifted. The prosecutor has therefore asked, so that she can be prosecuted.
