Two dead at demonstrations southwest Iran

The demonstrations in Iran have claimed lives again according to the Iranian news agency ILNA.

According to MEP Hedayatollah Khademi, the dead fell in the city of Izeh on Sunday. There would also have been some injuries. Khademi said that was shot. 'But I do not know whether demonstrators have done that or the police,' the MP said.

At the weekend, the authorities reported that during the protests two people had died in the town of Dorud, about 350 kilometers southwest of the capital Tehran.

People have been on the streets since Thursday, mainly to protest against the government. The reason for the protests include corruption suspicions and the lack of economic progress.
