Twitter gets longer messages Monday

"Twitter goes next week to allow longer messages.

"Twitter's plans were announced in May. A precise date on which that amendment would go in, there was not, however. According to the sources, however, September 19, the day on which the change takes effect. It is not clear whether any changes are simultaneously valid."
