Twente holds solid lead solar race

The Dutch student teams from Twente , Delft and Eindhoven remain leading in the World Solar Challenge, a prestigious competition of solar cars across the Australian desert .

" We are very happy. It was very exciting , a neck-and- neck race ", says Elise Nannings of Solar Team Twente. The Twente team drives the striking solar car Red One. The Delft hot car Nuna 8, Eindhoven has built family car Stella Lux.

The participants have approximately 3,000 kilometers through the Australian desert drive from Darwin in the north to Adelaide in the south. They are now about halfway.
