Twelve kill helicopter accident Afghanistan

At least twelve people were killed because a Moldavian helicopter crashed in an army camp in the north of Afghanistan.

The helicopter had fourteen people on board, eleven of them were Afghan soldiers, the other three were Ukrainian crew members.

According to the Moldovan aviation authority, the crash was caused by technical problems in the MI-8 helicopter. The accident took place around 15.00 local time in the province of Balkh.

The Afghan soldiers were transported from one army camp to another. The helicopter was hired by the Afghan Ministry of Defense.
