Turks arrested in Malaysia

Malaysia has arrested two Turks, including the head of an international school because of 'activities that threaten national security,' as the police called it.

'There is little doubt that they will be tortured in Turkey and unable to count on a fair trial,' said HRW spokeswoman.

The lawyer of the school director drew a comparison with an earlier case last October. Then two Turks suddenly disappeared in Malaysia. Later it appeared that they were delivered to Turkey. Since the failed coup last year, that country has been hunting internationally for alleged followers of the Hizmet movement of spiritual Fethullah Gülen, who would be behind the coup attempt.

Whether the two Turks are suspected of involvement in the coup is unclear. The lawyer said that the two arrested men had nothing to do with Gülen. 'It's academics. '
