Turkish opposition wants more than 600,000 observers

The Turkish opposition wants more than 600,000 observers to be deployed during the national elections next Sunday.

An NGO wants to train 40,000 volunteers to become election observers until the elections. They would then have to assess the fairness of the elections on behalf of an opposition party.

This year, for the first time, there is an organization in Turkey that monitors whether the elections are fair. The group was founded by opposition parties, NGOs, trade unions and media companies.
