Turkey fiercely condemns banker in US

The Turkish government has reacted furiously to the conviction of Mehmet Hakan Atilla, a Turkish banker stuck in the United States.

The lawsuit has put pressure on the relationship between the countries. The Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs called the evidence against the driver of the Turkish state bank Halkbank 'fake'. The department also said that there is 'unprecedented interference in an internal Turkish affair'.
