Turkey: 52,000 Gülen terrorists arrested

The Turkish authorities arrested approximately 75,200 people in 2018 for alleged terrorist connections.

The vast majority- about 52,000- have been arrested for contacts with the movement of the Islamic preacher Fethullah Gülen. The Turkish government blames Gülen for the attempted coup in 2016.
