Trump wants to keep maximum pressure on North Korea

US President Donald Trump has announced that 'a policy of maximum pressure' must be pursued with regard to North Korea.

Trump reiterated that the earlier approach against the Kim Jong-un regime, which has always failed, is no longer being used. He also told the Chinese president Xi Jinping during the state visit to China.

South Korea, however, has called on the United States under no circumstances to decide military action against North Korea without the consent of the ally. That said Chairman Choo Mi-ae of the South Korean government party in Washington.
