Trump maintains Iran deal for the time being

US President Donald Trump is currently maintaining the international agreement on curbing Iran's nuclear program.

Washington wants Iran to impose definitive restrictions on the uranium enrichment program, according to the BBC. In the current agreement these restrictions apply until 2025. If uranium is enriched to 90 percent, it can be used for atomic weapons.

The Iran agreement, in which Tehran promises to phase out the nuclear program in exchange for the lifting of sanctions, was closed in 2015 after years of negotiations. The Tehran regime reached agreement with four Western powers (the US, Great Britain, France and Germany), China and Russia.
