Trump and Macron congratulate May

British Prime Minister Theresa May received telephone congratulations from US President Donald Trump and French President Emmanuel Macron on Friday after the victory of her Conservative Party in the House of Representatives.

The Conservatives lost their majority, but remain the biggest party. May now wants to lead a minority government with the support of the Northern Irish Unionist Party DUP.

According to a statement from Downing Street 10, Macron said he was pleased that May 'remains a close partner. 'They agreed that' the strong friendship between our two countries is important and enduring. '

Trump and May agreed to continue the close cooperation between the United States and the United Kingdom.
