Traffic chaos in Germany through snow and ice

The invasion of winter with heavy snowfall and ice formation has severely affected traffic in Germany from Sunday evening.

In most cases, the consequences of the collisions were limited to eye damage. In one accident, however, one died and three were seriously injured. It was two elderly couples in a car that collided with a tree in Schleswig-Holstein on Sunday evening. An 87-year-old man was killed.

Air traffic at the largest airport in Frankfurt started again Monday morning. On Sunday, no fewer than 260 flights failed. Train traffic was also affected by snow, which meant that limited services could be driven on some routes. The Monday morning rush was reasonable, according to the German railways.
