Top consultation between the Netherlands and Belgium postponed

The political summit between the Dutch and Belgian federal government on Tuesday evening in Brussels has been postponed.

Prime Minister Mark Rutte, with more than half of his government team at the Royal Museums of Fine Arts, would be consulting on cooperation in the areas of security, defense, justice, tax, social fraud and mobility. A bilateral agreement would also be signed on the intended joint purchase of frigates and mine-fighters.

Belgian Prime Minister Charles Michel traveled to Liège with King Philippe, Minister of the Interior Jan Jambon and Minister of Justice Koen Geens. A man killed two female agents and a passenger of a passing car. The police shot the gunman dead after he had taken a cleaner in a school.

A total of 27 members of government would participate in the meeting. This was followed by a session with the theme 'Belgium-Netherlands and the Brexit' in the presence of the brexit chief negotiator on behalf of the EU, Michel Barnier.
