Tilburg-Helmond test range self-propelled vehicle

A stretch of highway, regional and local roads between Helmond and Tilburg is designated as a test environment for self-propelled vehicles and other innovative traffic trials.

The test project is an initiative of the Ministry of Infrastructure, Rijkswaterstaat, the province of North Brabant and the municipalities of Tilburg, Eindhoven and Helmond. The trajectory is for example space to practice convoy driving, communicating traffic and trucks that are connected to wireless Internet.

'That there may be tested on a total network of several roads makes this unique test environment,' said the Brabant Provincial Executive Christophe van der Maat Monday. In the long term may be upgraded test environment to Breda and Den Bosch.
