Thousands demonstrate after murder of journalist

After the assassination of a research journalist in Malta, thousands of people in the capital of Valletta have demonstrated justice for Sunday.

Journalist Daphne Caruana Galizia was killed last week by a car bomb on the island state. Those who are behind the murder are still unclear.

Caruana Galizia had revealed a scandal from the so-called Panama Papers. They also accused staff of premier Muscat of operating foreign mailbox companies.

The demonstration also included journalists' organization Reporters Without Borders. 'The killers wanted to silence her, they want to keep us silent. But they will not be silent for a minute, 'said Director Christophe Deloire.

Some protesters weared banners or T-shirts with the last words Caruana Galizia wrote on Monday, 'Everywhere you look are bumps', 'The situation is desperate.'
