The Netherlands makes million euros available for Sulawesi

The Netherlands has made € 1 million available to help victims of the earthquake and tsunami on the Indonesian island of Sulawesi.

The contribution is intended for medical assistance, food, water and emergency shelter. Money also goes to psychological first aid to relieve the trauma that caused the disasters.

The amount is made available through the Red Cross. The on-site assistance goes through the Indonesian Red Cross. There is still no specific request to the Netherlands for sending goods or other help.

Minister Kaag met on Monday with the Indonesian Minister of Finance. Kaag has conveyed condolences and expressed sympathy to surviving relatives and other victims of the natural violence.
