The judge doubts Mueller in the Manafort case

The American judge T.

Ellis was very skeptical Friday to Mueller, who may have gone too far by charging Manafort with bank and tax fraud. Ellis wondered how Mueller could be prosecuted for a financial offense of more than ten years old without calling Manafort on his election activities.

'I do not see what this has to do with what the special prosecutor is ordered to investigate', Ellis answered during the hearing about Manafort's request to dismiss the case. He did not make a statement and did not say when he made a decision. His remarkable remarks and questions do not say anything about the verdict, but they do put pressure on Mueller's team.

Mueller has two weeks to submit an unprocessed version of the Justice document describing his duties. An inadmissibility statement in the Manafort case would be a disappointment. Mueller can then count on heavy criticism from Trump, Republican Congressmen and the right-wing media.
