Test on rabies on import animal after brexit

After a hard brexit, it becomes more difficult for owners of dogs, cats and ferrets to bring their pet from the United Kingdom to the Netherlands.

The Dutch Food and Consumer Product Safety Authority (NVWA) warned on Monday that it is very likely that the European Union will place this extra demand on the import of dogs, cats and ferrets from the United Kingdom. Already these pets must have a microchip and have been vaccinated against rabies. This vaccination must be recorded in a European animal passport.
