Syrian backstop Istanbul

The suicide attack in Istanbul, where Tuesday at least ten dead and fifteen injured, was probably committed by a Syrian.


         The nationality of the victims is not yet clear. Erdogan indicated that among the dead both Turks and international tourists.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs in The Hague say they are in contact with the Dutch embassy in Ankara to hear if there are Dutch victims.
The Turkish government has promulgated after the attack, a media silence. The news should be stopped on the case. The government can enforce it on the grounds of national security.
Turkish Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoglu hold a crisis meeting Tuesday with the Ministers of Interior and Foreign Affairs and with the top of the intelligence services and police.
