Syria army dismayed besieged villages

Syrian forces have Wednesday northwest of the city of Aleppo evacuated two adjacent villages.

The villages are located in a Shiite area. The rebels are mostly Sunni extremists including from the al-Nusra Front. The regime of President Bashar al-Assad is supported by members of the Alawite minority. That is a faith community rooted in Shiite Islam. Alawite and Sunni extremists persecute Christians fiercely.

The Syrian army is with allies such as Hezbollah and continued support of the Russian Air Force in the attack on Aleppo where rebels are likely to be included.
