Swiss glaciers are no longer to be saved

Due to temperature rises, the glaciers in Switzerland can no longer be saved.

Since 1850, the peak of the so-called Little Ice Age, ice volume has fallen dramatically from 130 to 54 cubic kilometers. In 1973 there were 2150 glaciers in Switzerland, now there are only 1400.

The melting of the glaciers causes a noticeable rise in the sea level. According to the glacier expert, the sea level could rise by 30 to 100 centimeters in 2100.
