Sweden calls Russian ambassador on matje

The Swedish Ministry of Foreign Affairs calls the Russian ambassador Tuesday on the carpet.

Britain accuses Russia of sitting behind the attack on Sergey Skripal and his daughter Yulia in Salisbury. Both are in a critical condition in a hospital. In the attack, the Soviet-era nerve gas Novitsjok was used.

Moscow expressed his contempt for the accusations and a spokesman for the Russian Foreign Ministry said Saturday that the most likely source of the nerve gas was Britain itself, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, the United States or Sweden.

The Swedish Foreign Minister, Margot Wallström, called that claim 'unacceptable and unfounded'.
