Suspected murder shocked Iceland

After days and for the country unprecedented search by police and volunteers in Iceland found the corpse of the twenty Birna Brjánsdóttir.

Brjánsdóttir was found dead Sunday at a lighthouse on the coast of a peninsula southwest of Reykjavik. Brjánsdóttir disappeared early in the morning of January 14, after leaving a bar.

Iceland has according to statistics on crimes committed worldwide, as Liechtenstein and Singapore, virtually no serious crimes. The disappearance of the young woman shocked the country deeply. The discovery of her body has plunged the island into mourning.

Police have not yet be given what happened to her. In a red car that has been seen in images from surveillance cameras at the bar where she disappeared, were found traces of blood from her.
