The busy Oxford Circus tube station in the heart of London was evacuated during the evening rush hour, but the reason is unclear.

The British transport police stated they were responding to an 'incident' but did not provide any further information. Companies around the station are closed. Agents from various police services are present. The public is called to leave the places.
