South Korea is firing Chinese fishermen

The South Korean Coast Guard has discharged 249 warning shots to drive a large group of Chinese fishing vessels away.

The fishermen surrounded the coast guard ship and ignored warnings via the onboard radio. After the unloading of the warning shots, the Chinese disappeared.

The South Korean coastguard regularly has to deal with Chinese fishermen who illegally hunt in territorial waters of South Korea. The confrontations are sometimes violent. China declared 'concerned' about the latest incident.
