Somali pirates let go hijacked ship

Somali pirates have hijacked a tanker with an eight-member Sri Lankan crew let go.

After an exchange of fire with police launching of the Somali state of Puntland followed negotiations in which the hijackers apparently eggs chose for their money. One of the pirates confirmed that no ransom was paid.

It was the first hijacking of a merchant ship off the Somali coast since 2012. Before that such hijackings had regular place.
