Snow causes chaos in Norway

Heavy snowfall has led to power outages and chaos on roads and airports in the south of Norway.

Schools in the Telemark region southwest of the capital Oslo were closed. Lighting and heating had fallen out in various buildings, the NRK television station reported. The children were sent home.

Many roads in the mountainous area have also been closed. At the Torp airport in Sandefjord, the runways can only be released in the morning. Also the large airport Gardermoen in Oslo warned of delays and cancellations of flights.
