Sixteen agents killed in Egypt firefighting

Certainly sixteen Egyptian security officers were killed in a firearm with militants on Friday.

Egypt is being harassed by a number of Islamic resistance groups, inter alia by a subsidiary of Islamic State. Most jihadists are active on the Sinai Peninsula. They focus mainly on police and military. In Cairo and other cities, churches have been the target for some time now.

At the spot where the police held a raid on Friday, reportedly, members of Hasm stayed. That is a movement that has been attacking judges and police officers in and around the Egyptian capital for a year.
