Sierra Leone declared Ebola free

The World Health Organization said Saturday Sierra Leone declared Ebola free.

There are in the West African country in the last 42 days no new infections were reported. In the capital, Freetown, thousands of people onto the streets to celebrate the epidemic is over. The dead were remembered.

The virus has killed in Sierra Leone nearly four thousand lives. Sierra Leone with Guinea and Liberia one of the hardest hit countries. Of those three countries, only Guinea has not Ebola free. Liberia was early September declared Ebola free. The Ebola epidemic has claimed more than 11 000 people living in the three countries.
