Shell wants to start taxi service in London

Oil and gas company Shell has applied for a taxi service in London.

The application to the London Transport Authority comes from the FarePilot app, which is largely owned by Shell, writes business newspaper Financial Times.

The application was made in July. FarePilot shows drivers where there is a lot of demand for taxis and was launched at the end of 2016. Shell holds three-quarters, with the remainder for Boston Consulting Group.
