Shark bites tourist dead in Egypt

A swimming tourist was killed by a shark off the coast of Egyptian Marsa Alam.

The attack took place at 20 kilometers from the coast, in deep water. The Czech man was part of a group of divers. According to the local authorities, diving is not dangerous, but it is not wise to swim on the surface in deep waters.

In 2015, a tourist was last killed by a shark attack in the Red Sea. In 2010, after a series of attacks, a part of the beach of the popular resort of Sharm el-Sheikh was deposited.
