Sex outside of marriage: it is allowed... in Indonesia

Sex outside of marriage and sex between people of the same sex remain permitted in predominantly Muslim Indonesia.

A narrow majority of the judges of the Constitutional Court saw in the request of a group of conservative academics a violation of the fundamental rights of the citizens.

The chief judges also pointed out that they are not at all concerned about changing the criminal law. In no other country do as many Muslims as in Indonesia have 250 million inhabitants.
