Seven deaths in prison uprising in the US

At least seven prisoners were killed by riots in a prison in the American state of South Carolina.

The fighting broke out in housing units for the detainees in the Lee Correctional Institution, where about 1,500 people are stuck. Employees needed hours to get the situation under control. According to the State's Custodial Institutions, prisoners attacked each other. The staff remained unharmed.

It is not the first fatal incident in the prison in Bishopville. In a year, for example, at least three people died due to irregularities. Three detainees also succeeded in overcoming a guard last month.
