Serbia is desperate to hold top official

The Kosovo police have arrested a high Serbian official.

The Kosovo police arrested the Serbian government official Marko Djuric in Mitrovicë. There was a roundtable conference on how to improve relations between neighboring countries. Djuric was no longer allowed to enter Kosovo, because the authorities in the former Serbian province see his nationalist rhetoric as inciting.

A curated Djuric was then transferred to a police station in capital Pristina. He would then have been sent back to Serbia. President Vucic reproached EULEX for supporting the arrest of the official. EU foreign chef Federica Mogherini said he spoke with the leaders of Kosovo and Serbia. She called for calm.
