Serbia demands extradition former Prime Minister of Kosovo

Serbia has threatened action if the French authorities refuse to hand over a former Kosovo Prime Minister.

The former Kosovo leader Ramush Haradinaj was at the request of Serbia earlier this year arrested in France. The former guerrilla leader was Thursday ordered by the court provisionally released. He must remain in the country while the extradition request is under review.

The Serbian authorities suspect Haradinaj of war crimes and want to get him at all costs in hands. 'As someone who has been convicted or accused of brutal killings, torture and rape will not be extradited to Serbia, we do the same with French requests,' threatened Minister Kuburovic.

The Yugoslavia Tribunal in The Hague, Haradinaj twice acquitted of murder, rape and torture during the Kosovo war.
