Separatists claim Angola massacre

A separatist movement in Angola claims to have killed seventeen soldiers of the government army.

The Front for the Liberation of the Enclave of Cabinda (FLEC) seeking independence. Earlier this year died the founder of the movement, Nzita Tiago, at the age of 88. He lived in exile in France. Tiago's death since the FLEC has become more active and violent. Last Friday, the rebels attacked even soldiers, with nine deaths, according to the FLEC. The Angolan government does not respond to the attacks.

Cabinda is not adjacent to the rest of Angola, but is located on the West African coast wedged between Congo and Congo-Brazzaville. The separatist FLEC moisture from early sixties against Portuguese rule and returned after Angola's independence in 1975 to the new authority.
