Search for Julen step closer

The rescue workers in Spain who are looking for Julen, the 2-year-old boy who has fallen into a deep well, have finished drilling a vertical rescue shaft of about 60 meters deep.

Julen fell last week Sunday while playing near Totalán in the province of Andalusia in a well that is about 107 meters deep. The opening was only 25 centimeters wide. That is why a separate tunnel has been dug. This was difficult because of the danger of collapse and because the rocky bottom makes drilling difficult.
