Salt spreading in Greece meaningless

Heavy snowfall and low temperatures have disrupted life in northern Greece.

Mayor Yiannis Boutaris said Wednesday that since 1960 the region has not experienced such cold. Many water pipes are blown.

Also on islands in the northern and eastern part of the Aegean problems arose. Here and there is no electricity. Rhodes experienced for the first time in fifty years of light snow.

Meteorologists warn meanwhile flooding as the snow melts by rising temperatures.
